Electric nail clipper for pets

Pedi Paws is a painless, practical and easy electric tool for trimming your pet’s nails. It is suitable for all animals with nails – e.g. dogs and cats, but you can also use it for your guinea pig or rabbit.

The electric nail file is a gentle and stress-free way to file your animal’s claws and nails, and, thanks to a protective cap, you avoid having hairs get caught in the device. Even very tough claws can be shortened and shaped, and the chance of your pet getting hurt is minimal because you can carefully work your way, layer by layer, towards the living part of the claws, with a file rather than scissors.

You will, therefore, not be cutting off too much of the nail, which can often be done with ordinary nail clippers.

How to use Pedi Paws

The nail clipper is made in a round design that makes it easy to hold. Instead of cutting off pieces of the nail, this nail clipper files the nail down. It does this by rotating quickly; a ring of stiff sandpaper is mounted on the file.

Carefully hold the animal’s paw. It is important that you do it in a place where your pet feels safe, for example in their basket or on a rug in the garden. It may be a good idea to distract the animal – for example, another person can cuddle it or give treats.

Start by working a little at a time, and keep an eye on where the living part of the nail is. This is most often where the nail goes from being grey and mottled/almost transparent to non-transparent. If you file the nail down too far, it can start to bleed and it hurts your pet.

Make sure the nail has as few “notches” as possible. The smoother the edge, the harder it is for things to get stuck in the nail, causing it to break or split.

You can change the small ring on an electric nail clipper if it gets too worn out.
